Financial District, SF

San Francisco - I know I've been cheating on you lately. I've had a wonderful summer filled with incredible travel experiences, but the old saying holds true - there's no place like home. After almost 8 years of living here, I figured it was high time to visually highlight my love for this city.

Now, it would be a nearly impossible task to sum this beautiful city up in one post, so I decided to embark on a personal project and photograph each of my favorite spots, neighborhood by neighborhood. Each one is so vastly different here that they all feel like mini towns, each with their own character and style.

Recently, I was location scouting with a client and we found ourselves wandering through the financial district. It immediately struck me as the perfect place to begin. It's a neighborhood that I don't often go to, unless I have a specific reason, and I had genuinely forgotten how charming it can be. It has a similar daytime hustle and bustle to New York City but a quiet charm in hidden alleyways and tree-lined streets. There are some fantastic restaurants that have popped up - namely, the already famous, Leo's Oyster Bar. What's not to love about their tropical palm print, beautifully crafted cocktails, and a to-die-for food by Jennifer Puccio (of Marlowe, Park Tavern, and The Cavalier). It has quickly become everyone's new favorite restaurant. So without further ado, below is my list of my favorite can't-miss spots in FiDi.

FiDi Top 10

Leo's Oyster Bar - Lunch here is equally as good as dinner and it would be a mistake not to order one of their cocktails. My friend Rebecca describes the Garden Party as a "Spa inside her mouth".
Réveille Coffee - Just the right amount of hipster vibe, great coffee and snacks.
Isabel Marant - Gorgeous space that was previously a bank, the dressing room is an old vault! Also next door to Aesop.
Top of Kearny Street - Beautiful city views and not many cars. Best spot to see the Transamerica Pyramid (fun fact - when it was completed in 1972, it was the eighth tallest building in the world)!
Barcha - Great lunch meeting spot if you work downtown. Instagram-worthy cocktails.
Wayfare Tavern - Excellent service. Comfort food, comfortable environment.
Quince - Two Michelin stars and an ever changing menu.
Cotogna - Farm fresh deliciousness. Fun to sit at the bar and watch them make the pizzas.
Ice Cream at Cafe Ambrosia - When the mood strikes, which is... always?
Kokkari - Cozy atmosphere. Great for sharing plates.
